Scope and Contents

This series contains items from the Chin family home. These items include artwork; books and magazines; clothes and accessories worn by members of the family; kitchen and household objects such as silverware, lamps, and teacups; medicianl objects such as powders and bottles; newspapers; paper documents, such as letters written by Marcella Dear to her brother; photographs, and sewing materials used by Mrs. Chin. The majority of the materials are from the 1950s-1970s, but many of the books are from the late 19th century-early 20th century while some newspaper clippings are from the 2000s. Many of the medicinal objects were used by Mrs. Chin but some of them may have been used in the general store.
