Scope and Contents

Dream of the Red Chamber-Qingwen Patching the Fur Coat 红楼梦-晴雯补裘 Hong Lou Meng-Qing Wen Bu Qiu. All music manuscripts were stamped by 曲艺苑 Arts and Performance Center. The story tells that Jia Baoyu wears a coat made from peacock feathers to a banquet, but accidentally damaged it by sparks. He dreads apologizing to his mother, and returns home to tell Qingwen. Qingwen stays up all night to repair his coat despite of her sickness. This story comes from the novel Dream of the Red Chamber, which provides a detailed, episodic record of life in the two branches of the wealthy, aristocratic Jia clan—the Rongguo House and the Ningguo House —who reside in two large, adjacent family compounds in the capital.
