A Song of Pipa Lures Han Emperor (Part I) 一曲琵琶动汉皇(上)Yi Qu Pi Pa Dong Han Huang (Shang) The story tells the beautiful Wang Zhao Jun who is passed up for an opportunity to be selected as Han Emperor's concubine for not bribing a palace official in exchange for a royal audience. She instead becomes a maid in the palace, living a life of drudgery. Wang expresses her sorrow in song through the pipa. One day, Emperor Han passes by and overhears her singing and melodic playing. Moved by her beauty and talent, Emperor Han takes Wang Zhao Jun as his concubine.
