Photographs, 1960s-1970s
Scope and Contents
The majority of the photographs were used in various issues of the Chinese-American Times in the 1960s-1970s. They are all black and white images and film strips, except for one color image, of different sizes. A number of photographers are credited with the photographs, including James Chan, David Len, David W. S. Lew, Edward Louie, Henry Woon, and John Yee. Additionally, two photographic studios are credited, China Newspicture Services and Kern Lee Studio. The images cover a range of topics, such as the dedication of the Kimlau War Memorial, Chinatown, New York, on April 29, 1962; the Double Ten Parade in October 1964; countless representatives of Miss Republic of China and Miss Chinatown; the campaign mayoral candidate John Lindsay; and Chinatown storefronts and interiors.
