Biographical / Historical
Clarence Lee is a Chinese-American artist from Honolulu, Hawaii. Raised by Chinese parents, much of his work is an assimilation between Eastern and Western principles of art. Lee's professional career as an artist began in 1958 upon his graduation from Yale University's School of Art and Architecture. He spent five years in New York before moving back to his home in Honolulu to establish his own design firm. Lee's work has been regularly published in many different American Design publications, and he has received international recognition. This collections focuses on Lee's work with the United States Postal Service and his designs for Chinese Lunar New Year stamps between 1992 and 2001.
