Walter Wah Hom collection
Scope and Contents
The collection mostly contains business records of Walter Wah Hom. There are various receipts from different proprietors, including Scoy Shirt Pressing and Quon Hing Company, a restaurant and laundry supplier. In addition, there are many bank and insurance documents, plus commercial vehicle and auto licenses and renewals. Most of the documents are from the 1950s. There is also a box of cigars labelled “Robt. Burns Cigarillos.” Objects are also searchable via PastPerfect Online System at http://mocanyc.pastperfectonline.com/randomimages.

Walter Wah Hom was born on December 25, 1901. Based on the materials in the collection, he was most likely the proprietor of Scoy Shirt Pressing in Chinatown, New York, in the 1950s.
