The collection mostly contains administrative and business records of Mee Heung Chow Main Co., such as bills, business cards and letterhead, calendars, handwritten menus, insurance documents, monthly receipts, and tax records. In addition, there are a few objects, including a cash register, check register, and original storefront sign and awning. Most of the business records are from the 1960s, but there is an automobile insurance card from 1937. Other proprietors, from the late 1950s-early 1960s, included William W. Chang, Soo Yuen Hor, Young Jow Fong, and Ngew Lee.

Biographical / Historical

Mee Heung Chow Main Co. (original spelling) was a noodle factory founded around 1927 at 75 Mott Street in New York’s Chinatown. Before the company's closure in 1992, it was owned by Soo Yuen Hor and Dai W. Moy.
