Scope and Contents

This collection mostly contains materials procured by Alex Jay and focus on Chinese American writers and playwrights, artists and illustrators, actors, comic book artists, filmmakers, designers, and architects. There are various periodicals, artwork, books, comic books, recipes, playbills, and other items either by Chinese Americans or about Chinese Americans, all dating between 1914 and 2015. Biographical / Historical

Alex Jay is an avid blogger based in the United States who writes about topics associated with Chinese Americans. Since 2011 he has established three blogs focused on the Chinese American experience: (1) "Chinese American Eyes"; (2) "Jeanyee Wong"; and (3) "The Blue, the Gray and the Chinese". The materials in this collection were procured by Alex Jay over a period of 25 years.

28 Linear Feet (28 boxes (25 regular size archival boxes; 3 oversize boxes), two paintings placed separately) : 28 linear feet of paper documents, photographs, books, periodicals, media materials, objects, and artworks.
