Family Treasures Digitization Project Collection

Overview A collection of materials digitized for the "Family Treasures" project funded by the National Historic Publication and Records Commission (NHPRC) and the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH). These materials are not limited to Chinese Americans. The project is meant to help members of the community preserve their photographs, artifacts, documents, etc.

Scope and Contents The materials in this collection consist entirely of paper documents donated by a social worker in the mid 1990s. These materials include academic papers and reports; brochures, pamphlets, and mailings; newsletters; newspaper and magazine clippings; and full issues of magazines and journals. International Examiner Collection

Scope and Contents There are 194 newspapers in total but only 143 issues (there are 2 copies of many issues.) Each issue contains cultural, political, economic, and educational news relating to the Asian American communities. Sections also include District News, National News, Perspectives on Employment, Legal Matters, and Political Decisions, and an Arts Roundup for the fortnight. Several issues also contain an employment supplement to aid the community on that front.

Jacqueline Huey collection

Scope and Contents This collection consists of newsletters, reports, journals, and books. Many of the newsletters are addressed to a Mr. and Mrs. Huey, presumably the donor's parents. All of the items are dated from the 1970s-early 1980s except for one report, which is from 1990. The newsletters are all from the Organization of Chinese-Americans, Inc. Journey Wall Collection
