Scope and Contents This collection mostly contains materials procured by Alex Jay and focus on Chinese American writers and playwrights, artists and illustrators, actors, comic book artists, filmmakers, designers, and architects. There are various periodicals, artwork, books, comic books, recipes, playbills, and other items either by Chinese Americans or about Chinese Americans, all dating between 1914 and 2015. Scope and Contents There are 194 newspapers in total but only 143 issues (there are 2 copies of many issues.) Each issue contains cultural, political, economic, and educational news relating to the Asian American communities. Sections also include District News, National News, Perspectives on Employment, Legal Matters, and Political Decisions, and an Arts Roundup for the fortnight. Several issues also contain an employment supplement to aid the community on that front.
Scope and Contents The sub-series consists of journals and periodicals as well as pages removed from them. A portion of the materials are periodicals that are devoted to Chinese or Asian American cultures. Others either include articles or photographs of Asian American subjects, media scene, and Chinatown, or have cover art or illustrations by Chinese American artists.
